gm, if you think X is ngmi doesn’t mean it’s ngmi, life is a game of chances, and most of us are wired with the inability to assess the future, and those who do are rarely able to see it precisely. The variability of multiplayer interaction and speed makes predictions tougher. There is no such thing as stability forever, things change every second, we don’t notice because the degree of change is just negligible but the degree of change has become quite significant in the past few years and they are just compounding, many people will notice it, once things hit critical mass.
If you are thinking it’s only Web3 no it isn’t, it’s much more than that, in a nutshell, it’s GenZ losing their real self and feeling themselves more in their digital self.
In the past few years, most of the things have already moved online whether it’s entertainment(Netflix, Prime, Disney +) payments(Stripe, Paypal), Meetings(Zoom, Meet), and countless other things but things got to the next level in 2021 with the NFTs boom, as it moved status economy online and this is just the beginning as it was also moved identity online. People used to had multiple personas for many years. You also might be using 2-3 Instagram accounts if not you must have used different avatars in different games, that’s was casual stuff but NFTs have made things interesting.
Let me take you on a journey, close your eyes and think of an airplane, what did you imagine words or an image. It was certainly an image of an airplane. The human mind thinks in pictures, not in words. With NFTs, there is no point in writing working at NGMI or ex-NGMI(Netflix, Google, Meta, Instagram). It’s well said that a picture says 1000 words and many companies or working on reducing resumes just to an NFT.
This is just one use case, the world is changing rapidly with people's attention span being less than a blink, every company and startup will have to go the community way and form deep connections with their customers or they will fade away. With communities getting mainstream, it’s gonna be interesting how attention will split between influencers, communities, and community influencers. Entire marketing is gonna shift into clusters pretty soon.
